Free The Children was founded in 1995 by Craig Kielburger
when he was twelve years old.
Since its inception, Free The Children has grown into an
international movement of children helping children that has
improved the lives of over a million children in more than 35
countries.
The organization has built over 400 schools to date and it
provides clean water and medical supplies and establishes
women's cooperatives.
In 1998, Craig and Marc started "Leaders Today", a leadership
institute that empowers and inspires over 250,000 North
American and worldwide youth every year to become actively
involved in volunteering their services to others to better the
world in which we live.
Free The Children has been making an indelibly positive mark
on the lives of millions worldwide.
For having done so, it has been honored with the Roosevelt
Freedom Medal and State of the World Forum Award. Craig has
also been nominated twice for the Nobel Peace Prize.
